When Lawrence Van Buskirk was born on 14 June 1838, in Aylesford, Kings, Nova Scotia, Canada, his father, Charles Van Buskirk, was 34 and his mother, Rebecca Phinney Congdon, was 32. He married Lucy Ann Waite on 4 July 1879, in Saugus, Essex, Massachusetts, United States. They were the parents of at least 2 daughters. He lived in Westborough, Worcester, Massachusetts, United States in 1880 and Norwood, Norfolk, Massachusetts, United States in 1900.
